The 20 best pairs of shoes to wear to a wedding this summer
I was once in New York at the Spring/Summer 2016 Ann Taylor Preview on a very rainy fall day when I saw the light in the form of navy, suede, block heels. I’m a truly impractical person when it comes to fashion and even more so when it comes to shoes, but the instant I saw these suede saviours I knew they were the solution to my summer wedding circuit (and the perfect pairing with my deep blue Self-Portrait dress). If you’re anything like me and had seven weddings to attend last summer with another five this summer (don’t even get me started on the 2017 wedding season, I think the tally is at five already!) then you know shoes are a major challenge.
Those insta worthy shots of vineyards and harvest tables set in sunshine and grass are not a welcoming place for your favourite stilettos. The key to wedding footwear is a low or thick heel that won’t puncture the soft ground and will keep you steady after a few drinks. Since my season officially starts in two weeks, I’ve sifted through the best of the best to find wedding worthy and appropriate shoes to get you through the grass and keep you on the dance floor all night long.
