Louis Vuitton and UNICEF Launch #MakeAPromise Day

Fashion powerhouse Louis Vuitton has teamed up with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to launch its first #MakeAPromise day on January 12th, 2017, aimed at raising funds to benefit children in urgent need. As part of this global initiative, Vuitton has designed a special silver Lockit bracelet and pendant (available at LV stores worldwide and louisvuitton.com/lvforunicef), and for every piece sold, $200 is donated to UNICEF. Inspired by Georges Vuitton’s original lock design from 1890, these two pieces seal one’s commitment (in a very stylish way) to this important cause.

Louis Vuitton invites people around the world to join the movement and share this message with a pinky promise on social media using the hashtag #MakeAPromise. After all, linking fingers to seal a promise is something that has always united children regardless of where they live in the world. “When children make a promise, they mean it, and they seal it with a pinky promise. Children show us a simple way to change the world,” says Michael Burke, President of Louis Vuitton. Since January 2016, The Louis Vuitton for UNICEF partnership has helped to raise $2.5 million dollars to help bring children life-saving humanitarian support in Syria and Nigeria.
