Over the past few years, statement jewellery has gone from runway-only to fashion mainstay. Necklaces-over-necklaces, arm parties and stacked rings are everywhere, which can in part be attributed to Dannijo designers Danielle and Jodie Snyder who’ve made colourful statement after colourful statement with their bejewelled creations. Though these purveyors of the more is more philosophy have made many of us comfortable with wearing more bling, there are still plenty of jewellery newbies who still find the piled on look intimidating. While in town at Holt Renfrew last week, the duo doled out tips for wearing statement jewellery while modeling some of their latest pieces for our holiday how-to.

Holiday How To Dannijo Arm Party

“I think if you’re new to the statement jewellery thing and you’re someone that’s a little bit intimidated, don’t try to do earrings and a necklace, start with one body part,” says Danielle. “The arm party is our go-to, which you can try with different crystal skinny cuffs and a few loose crystal bracelets. “Having the one piece makes it feel less intimidating than trying to coordinate.”

“For daytime, we’re both loving grays and plaids, so even with what I’m wearing you can wear the Jordana necklace under the collar,” says Jodie. “Jewellery can really transform your holiday look and especially with crystal.”

“One of the big trends designers are doing is a different kind of collar and a solid shirt, so having a little bit of fun and putting one of the statement necklaces under the collar is a nice way to have a bit of sparkle but still feel comfortable and casual.”

“The ear is definitely having a moment for the holiday,” says Jodie. “Chandelier earrings tend to be the easiest to dress up no matter the neckline, and the good news is we do clip-ons so no excuses!”
