Banana Republic has collaborated with iconic textile and fashion designer Marimekko for a limited-edition summer capsule collection. Mixing Banana’s signature modern, American style with Marimekko’s unique and boisterous prints, this collection is a summertime dream.
Incorporating spring staples like the midi-skirt, matching separates, and shift dress, the silhouettes mixed with the bright cues and patterns of this collection are must-haves for your spring wardrobe! Bringing their inspirations to life through the prints, Marimekko’s designers Maiji Isola, Aino-Maiji Metsola, and Maiji Louekari have created a capsule that is far from bland. From polka-dots to abstract floral and vegetable prints, their designs scream ‘innovative’. In addition to the standout apparel pieces, the collection contains perfectly spring-appropriate accessories like clutches, sandals and ballet flats- this is one collabo that has got it all!
“Marimekko’s unique design of pattern and color has always inspired me as a designer,” says Melloney Birkett, Banana Republic’s Vice President of Women’s Design. “With this summer capsule, we wanted to create a collection that marries Marimekko’s iconic prints with our signature silhouettes. We were inspired by Marimekko founder Armi Ratia’s motto of, ‘Stand out from the rest,’ and we designed a collection of must-have summer standouts.” No question here, flaunting any of these pieces will make your style noteworthy, and we can’t wait to get our hands on all of them!
