Tommy Hilfiger’s breezy California beachscape had me daydreaming of surf, sand and sun all week.

Marc Jacobs closed the week on a dark and stormy note. His broken-down beach scene, complete with black sand
and eerie shipwreck, set the stage for his moody prints and Victorian military jackets.

This hot-off-the-runway bag by Ostwald Helgason for Aldo Rise was in my hotel room when I arrived in New York, giving me the street-style one-up on other editors and their (pfff!) current-season digs.

The cool ’90s tomboy looks at Rag & Bone.

On the street:

Forget wacky sunglasses, kooky clutches and architectural stilettos: Stylish tots were the It accessory at fashion week this season.

Fashion shower:

The Burberry Prorsum show turned mega production when the skies broke out into a full-fledged storm (visible through the brand’s signature see-through tent) as models were hitting the runway in a shower of rose petals.

Most luxe runway:

Tom Ford set up plush sofas for guests to lounge on while sipping champagne and ogling Cate Blanchett and Colin Firth, who were holding court front row.

Editor’s Must-Have:

I’d been coveting a particularly vibrant pinky-red matte lipstick since spotting it on runways last season. Serendipitously, M.A.C left that exact shade (“Relentlessly Red”) in my hotel room on my first day in town. Life made!

Buzziest show:

Christopher Kane had everyone talking for days after his psychedelic botany-inspired spring presentation.

Cutest cuppa:

Mulberry took teatime to a whole new level with its spring show invitation, which was accompanied by a custom-made mini Wedgwood cup-and-saucer set.

I want:

Everything about this Simone Rocha look—the slashes on the skirt, the pearl-trimmed knee-highs, the Perspex mom sandals
—makes me wild!

Coolest Collab:

Smythson amped up its spring preview with an exhibit of collages by artist Quentin Jones which blended the brand’s iconic leathers into famous faces like Katharine Hepburn and Dita Von Teese.

Buzziest show:

At Prada, six street artists were commissioned (by Miuccia herself) to paint pop art-inspired murals all over the venue. The designs were mimicked in full technicolour on virtually every piece in the collection. Mind-blowing!

Best first impression:

Alessandra Facchinetti’s debut collection for Tod’s had editors coveting her colour-blocked leather and laser-cut shirtdresses all week.

My Chanel purse and Balmain sunglasses—they go with everything!

Miroslava Duma’s forest-green Calvin Klein ensemble—strapless and belted with matching pom-pom pumps, tightly bundled scarf and bordeaux Kelly—was my favourite look of the week.

models in his show brought the house down with their aggressive choreographed stomping.

Stella McCartney’s show
invite came with an oversized google-eyes ring, which had me wondering if her four kids had a hand in the event planning.

Raf Simons’s beaded wisteria neckpiece for Christian Dior.

I purchased these Prada Oxfords on my first day in Paris and ended up wearing them almost every day!
