My fashion resolution is to wear more pieces that I make. I’ve challenged myself to take on more sewing projects this year and my first is a skirt I made a few days ago. I love how it came out and I can’t wait to make more as the year goes by.

Mo’s wearing: Shoes, Nine West. Jacket, Forever 21. Top and earrings, Thrifted. Glasses, Black Market.

My fashion resolution? To try to work with the wardrobe I’ve built. If your loved ones call you a clothes horse or a borderline blouse hoarder, this resolution is for you too. This year I’m going to try to wear everything I own at least once, and if at the end of next year I haven’t worn an item, I will need to get real about why it takes up space in my closet.

Kira’s wearing: Sweater and hat, Joe Fresh. Vest and pants, J.Crew. Boots, Hunter.

My 2015 fashion resolution is to add statement pieces to my wardrobe. I have spent all of 2014 streamlining and editing my closet to create a wearable wardrobe of quality pieces that reflect my personal style. Now that I have done so, I am ready to add some exciting pieces starting with this embellished coat; it is heavy, beaded, and fabulous! It looks lovely over a slip dress and I can’t wait to wear it with Levi’s and a white tee.

Nichole’s wearing: Dress, Nasty Gal. Coat and booties, Zara. Pouch, Louis Vuitton.

With the New Year comes new perspectives and new style trends, and my favourite way to embrace these are to stretch my personal limits. For me this means challenging my norm by pairing mixed prints, combining different textures, and to take on trends that I wouldn’t normally allow myself try. Cheers to 2015 style!

Becky’s wearing: Skirt, Anthropologie. Top, Zara. Fur Coat, Piperlime. Stockings, Nordstrom. Heels, Hudson’s Bay. Sunglasses, Karen Walker. Handbag, Club Monaco. Belt, Banana Republic.

2015 is all about getting over past sartorial hang-ups and embracing what I once despised; turtlenecks being on that list. For years I avoided them, feeling constricted whenever I tried to wear them, which incidentally was often since my mom insisted on buying them in every colour much to my chagrin. She just wanted me to love them as much as she did in her youth and I finally get it now; they’re the best layering piece around. Forget about losing scarves, the turtleneck is a perpetual scarf!

Sandy’s wearing: Coat, barrette, turtleneck, necklace and bracelet, vintage. Skull studs, Thomas Sabo. Paradise Mine high-rise skinny denim, Aritzia. Newbury booties, Rag & Bone.

My resolution last year was to be less analytical about my choices, and just wear what I feel like at the minute and I think I’ve done a pretty good job of it. So I suppose I just want to continue doing that. I’ve acquired some pieces recently that are comfy and casual, but can add a dose of drama to my wardrobe, like this knee-length hoodie and floral-print tee. In a nutshell, my New Year’s fashion resolution is to not be afraid to try new things, but also not to force myself to, for the sake of making a statement, because that can come off as unauthentic.

Christopher’s wearing: Sweater, Tee and boots, Forever 21. Pants, H&M.

Every year I say I’m going to take more fashion risks, and admittedly this year I have. So for the year ahead I really just want to push that even further and maintain a carefree approach to dressing. I never want to get too serious; I just want to wear what what I like and what makes me feel good. Here’s to 2015!

Kayla’s wearing: Tulle Skirt, That Girl Who Loves. Hat, Joe Fresh. Bra, Free People. Singlet, Titika. Boots, Le Chateau.

With travel and moving plans in the near future, the financials for shopping sprees will be limited this year, but accessories are easy ways to change up classic outfits quickly. I’ll be on the hunt for cool and contemporary statement jewellery, glasses, purses and shoes in 2015. I love how the switch of a pair of frames can change an outfit completely. I’ll be looking to support Canadian local artists, small businesses, and up-and coming designers and share my love of accessory design with my blog.

Barbara’s wearing: Jumpsuit, H&M. Necklace, Liana Marie. Earrings, Hortense Jewelry. Frames, ClearlyContacts.ca. Bracelet, Nektar De Stagni.
