Each year, Fashion Group International’s Toronto Chapter hosts its Mentor Dinner bringing together some of Canada’s top fashion professionals for an evening full of inspiration. This year’s event took place at Hôtel Le Germain, where guests sipped on bubbly while mingling with some of the industry’s best and brightest including Trend Forecaster & Retail Consultant Barb Atkin; President & Founder of rock-it promotions Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski; Celebrity Photographer on WireImages & Getty Images George Pimentel; President & Design Director of Pink Tartan Kimberley Newport-Mimran; Co-host on The Social and Senior Correspondent on eTalk Lainey Lui; Entrepreneur & Judge on Dragon’s Den Michele Romanow; Editor-in-Chief of FASHION Noreen Flanagan; and SVP & Fashion Director of Hudson’s Bay Company and Lord & Taylor Suzanne Timmins.

The evening’s discussion focused on the idea of “reinvention”— something each mentor experienced many times throughout their careers.

“The word ‘reinvention’ can be intimidating, there’s a lot of weight to it,” said Editor-in-Chief of FASHION Noreen Flanagan. “But personally, I prefer ‘creative adventures’ and the occasional misadventures!”
