At last weekend’s 74th Annual Golden Globes, nominees Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures) and Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) both wore cool menswear-inspired tux looks on the red carpet—a refreshing alternative to the usual frilly fare. Wood told E! News reporter Ryan Seacrest that her custom Altuzarra suit was an homage to Marlene Dietrich in Victor Victoria and David Bowie (the late singer’s birthday was January 8). “I’m not trying to protest dresses, but I wanted to make sure young girls and women know that it’s not a requirement,” she told Seacrest during their red carpet interview.
