Fashion Week Awards crowd at the Design Exchange

Over 1,000 of Toronto’s fashion royalty and culturalites ascended onto the impressive main floor of the Design Exchange last Friday for the closing fete of World MasterCard Fashion Week, FASHION’s Toronto Fashion Week Awards. The second bi-annual event saw FASHION Editor-in-Chief Bernadette Morra and Men’s FASHION Editor-in-Chief David Livingstone dishing out BIRKS-framed Awards for the edit teams’ top picks of the week, including Best Model (awarded to the adorably flattered Kiera Moldrum of Sutherland Models) and Best Collection (bestowed to Canadian sartorial stalwart Pink Tartan). After the presentation portion of the evening, the real party started, with guests enjoying Grey Goose-customized cocktails, Peroni beer and [yellow tail] wine, while the week’s designers and VIPs flocked to the Casamigos tequila bar for some highly sought after “skinny margaritas,” and of course, the good stuff on the rocks.

A party wouldn’t be complete without an haute cuisine offering, provided by Toben Food by Design, which offered up delicacies like duck confit steam bun with house made kimchi and jerk seared ahi tuna. Those who were looking to satiate their thirst enjoyed Flow water from a specially branded H2O bar and bottlegreen sparkling pressé. The ClearlyContacts.ca photo booth as provided by Page Activations was a hit and guests were able to try on sunnies and specs to suit their mood.
