Toronto Artists Convene For A Night Of Chatter & Inspiration
Presented by Rockport and Hines Tridel, the 5th annual Artscape Salon took place on May 25th, 2016. Over 300 attendees gathered into the Artscape Wychwood Barns for the chance to connect with creativity and attend a lively sold-out dinner party.
The fashion-savvy crowd participated in a cocktail reception where they were challenged by Artscape’s CEO Tim Jones to answer the question “Does art influence the city and how does the city influence art?” As the dinner began, guests were delighted by 32 featured speakers, from the world of arts, culture and city building joining them at their tables for a rousing discussion.
Guests of note included Patrick J. Adams, star of the hit TV show Suits; actor, writer and producer Vinay Virmano; famed costume designer Annie Dixon; President of the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards Vicki Milner; artist Gary Taxali; sculptor Harley Valentine and more. To cap off the night, musical performer Clara Venice – part Harujuku girl, part 21st century pop princess – provided an enchanting finish to a fun and truly inspiring evening.
All proceeds from the night will go towards creating and sustaining creative place making projects, programs and services that benefit the lives of artists and their communities. Guests departed the event filled with creative ideas and the inspiration to see the city anew.
