TIFF 2012: Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Jello shots for all at last night’s Spring Breakers party

If you never had the chance to participate in the grand North American tradition of spring break (which, FYI, should always be pronounced in full caps and followed with a fist pump cheer) last night’s Spring Breakers party brought quite the facsimile. Vitaminwater transformed Brassaii’s sleek patio into a Daytona Beach-eqsue nightclub, compete with bikini-clad girls frolicking in hot tubs and Jello shots for all. At the Spring Breakers press conference earlier in the day, Selena Gomez warned her fans that the film is R-rated and not for younger audiences—a sign that she was ready to break out of her Disney-approved bubble? However, our hopes for seeing this rebellious streak at the Spring Breakers party (like, say through a public makeout sesh with her conveniently-also-in-Toronto boyfriend Justin Bieber?) were all for naught. Selena Gomez quietly mingled with guests—such as magician David Blaine and Glee‘s Darren Criss—while holding hands with her Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson. Vanessa Hudgens, on the other hand, gave us a bit of a thrill when she nuzzled up against boyfriend Austin Butler before disappearing into the crowds. And while James Franco was a no-show, the notorious ALT Twins (who play his drug dealing minions in film) worked the party in gold grills, using every photo opp to keep the gritty spirit of Spring Breakers alive with Vice Magazine-worthy poses.
