It’s only a week into the 70th annual Venice Film Festival and the stars are bringing their sartorial A-game. To help us keep track of the endless red carpet premieres, photo-calls and press conferences, we’re rounding it up with 10 of our favourite fashion looks so far. With TIFF coming up this week, we’re getting a good idea of what the celebrities are bringing to the red carpet and let’s just say, we’re not worried at all.

We’re used to seeing Sandra Bullock playing it safe with monochromatic tones on the red carpet, and so it was a breath of fresh air to see the Oscar-winning actress in two colourful ensembles last week. Arriving in style, Bullock wore a colourblock dress by Alex Perry and Giuseppe Zanotti heels at the photo call for her film Gravity. Later in the evening, she left us speechless at the opening ceremony in a red strapless silk gown by J. Mendel from the Resort 2014 collection as she completed the outfit with Martin Katz jewellery and Roger Vivier black clutch and ankle-strap sandals.

At the screening of Miu Miu Women’s Tales, three leading ladies opted for this summer’s celebrity favourite: the mini dress. While Michelle Dockery and Frieda Pinto stood out in red Miu Miu dresses, Carey Mulligan chose a sleeveless black silk dress by Miu Miu that features a white Peter Pan collar. As for accessories, the trio stuck to classic black clutches and black heels. Mulligan even added a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses by Prada.

While she may have been one of the youngest stars on the red carpet, Dakota Fanning was definitely the belle of the ball at the premiere of her film, Night Moves. Gracing the red carpet in a shimmery blue gown, the starlet wore Elie Saab from the Fall 2013 Couture collection and finished off her look with Rona Pfeiffer and Cathy Waterman jewellery. While Fanning may have played the leading lady to Jesse Eisenberg in the film, the actor’s IRL girlfriend Mia Wasikowska was also in town to promote her film Tracks and looked elegant in a black and white dress by Proenza Schouler.

Film festivals are never complete without the galas and the parties. Attending the Jaeger-LeCoultre gala dinner with dapper beau, Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger looked regal as she styled herself purple velvet gown by Alberta Ferreti, complete with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.
