Celebrity by the designer: A guide to the favourite fashion houses of 10 A-listers

celebrity favourite designer guide

We’ve already discussed celebrities’ love for playing favourites in the footwear department, but it seems like stars also can’t resist going back to their favourite designers for red carpet events. Though there are a handful of celebs that have become quite predictable due to designer sponsorships (for example, Jennifer Lawrence will likely show up in Christian Dior and Kristen Stewart will probably rock Chanel at her next event), we tallied up the number of times other A-list stars (read: their stylists) have gravitated toward a particular designer over the years. They may not be starring in the designer campaigns (yet!), but judging by our results, we think it’s only a matter of time.

Exhibit A: Emma Stone. Ever since we saw her walk side by side with Alber Elbaz at the 2012 Met Gala, we knew the their mutual love would be everlasting. Honestly, we still can’t get over how much we adored her in the strapless Lanvin jumpsuit at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards.

Zuhair Murad may not be the biggest fashion house when it stands next to traditional ones like Chanel, Dior and Versace, but the designer has proven to be a red carpet staple. Nina Dobrev and Chrissy Teigen have both expressed their love for his dresses, but it’s Jennifer Lopez who takes the cake. Not one to shy away from showing some skin, we can see why Zuhair Murad is the designer of choice for the singer/actress as of late.

That being said, not all celebs who front designer campaigns stick to outfits by that designer exclusively. Cases in point: Keira Knightley and Blake Lively. While Knightley may be the face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle and Lively for Gucci Premiere, both have proved that they enjoy dabbling in other designer wear, particularly Erdem for Knightley and Michael Kors for Lively. Making our hearts skip a beat, these two fashion darlings make sure outfits by these two designers consistently make appearances on the red carpet.

From Rihanna’s break-the-internet outfits by Adam Selman to Taylor Swift’s head-turning looks by Julien Macdonald to Kate Middleton’s soft spot for all things Alexander McQueen, we present you with nine celebrities (and one royal) who just can’t get enough of their favourite designer when it comes to walking the red carpet.
