Although rather tame in comparison to editions from years past, last night’s MTV VMAs was packed with so many incredible performances to the point where we’ve lost count. In case you didn’t tune in last night, here’s everything you need to know to bring you up to speed.

Britney Spears was back at it again
Having the Princess of Pop back in the house was a major throwback, especially during her performance of “Make Me…” with G-Eazy, in which she took to lip-synching.

Nick Jonas performed with a plate of cripsy bacon
The youngest JoBro performed his latest single “Bacon” last night, featuring Ty Dolla $ign at the Tick Tock Diner on W 34th and 8th. In addition to killing his performance, we seriously couldn’t get enough of the exciting cameos, including appearances by Josh “The Fat Jew” Otrovsky, models Taylor Hill and Ashley Graham, and older bro Joe Jonas (the two got matching tattoos before the show—sorry Kevin).

Ariana Grande performed on an exercise bike…
… and she hardly broke a sweat! Seriously, Ari. How do you do it?! The track also features Nicki Minaj, who came on stage in all of her adorable glory, envy-inducing rear and all.

Beyoncé’s Lemonade performance
This performance was everything we hoped it would be. Queen Bey also walked the red carpet with Blue Ivy, who was decked out in an $11,000 gown and Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers.

Halsey was high
During her red carpet interview, the singer told radio host Charlamagne Tha God that she chills out by smoking weed.

#AubRih forever
Drake took the the stage to present long-time collaborator (and rumoured gf) Rihanna with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. “She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.” Swoon!

Kanye West spoke
Nothing new here. He told the crowd that “Famous” would probably lose to Queen Bey, but that it was OK because he’s “always wishing for Beyoncé to win.” He also premiered his video for “Fade”, which features model Teyana Taylor turning into a cat, eliciting WTFs all over Twitter.
