The tiara is having a glittering good time these days. First spotted on Saint Laurent’s punk rock prom queens for spring 2016, the regal sparkler was the crowning glory of the Duchess of Cambridge’s stunning state dinner look at Buckingham Palace in London on October 20th.

Wearing a custom-made sequin-embroidered scarlet gown by Jenny Packham, Kate Middleton brought the bling to her first State Dinner in honour of the President of China, Xi Jinping, and his wife Peng Liyuan. Besides the diamond and pearl studded Lotus (or Papyrus) tiara—borrowed from her granny-in-law Queen Elizabeth—a pair of diamond chandelier earrings also took the spotlight, thanks to K-Mid’s chic chignon.

Joined by Prince William and Queen Elizabeth, the Duchess shined bright like a diamond at the head table. Here’s hoping she opens up the vault a little more often.
