This year saw a lot of devastating breakups in Hollywood. Between Blake and Miranda, Ben and Jen, Emma and Andrew, Gwen and Gavin—2015 left many of us wondering if true love even exists. But, thankfully, this year also brought us some hot AF celebrity hookups that made us forget about long-lasting love altogether. No, these six famous flings were not made to last (except maybe the last one) but were made to bring us a lot of joy, a little jealousy and some serious heat in our pants.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez
What are we going to do with the two that just can’t quit each other? Sit back and enjoy, natch! After numerous public breakups, it seemed like 2015 was going to be the year these two stayed away from one another. They’ve both been dating other people (most recently, the Biebs and Kourtney Kardashian are said to be kourting; and she is allegedly dating Niall Horan from One Direction), and Justin was even snapped naked with another woman in Bora Bora. (Who could forget those photos?) Not so fast! Post-nudie pics, Bieber set out on a promotional tour where he opened up about his relationship with Gomez and admitted that he’d be open to getting back with her. Soon after, they were spotted on a date. But not just any date—a date made in Belieber heaven, ending with Justin publicly serenading Selena with “My Girl.” Seriously, you couldn’t script it better. But, unfortunately, their “happily ever after” hasn’t come just yet. It might not be their time yet, but I still belieb it will come…someday.
Nick Jonas and Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson and fiancé Matt Bellamy ended their long-time engagement late last year, and after briefly dealing with Derek Hough, Kate moved on to a much more interesting (read: relevant) suitor: Nick Jonas. Yes, not only did Nick have his big breakout solo moment in 2015, he was also allegedly spending time (wink) with one of the hottest and most adored celebrities in the world. Well played, young Jo Bro. The 23-year-old pop star and the 36-year-old movie star were snapped on some adorable rendezvous, like a super cute trip to Disney World and a cozy “morning after” brunch, if you catch my drift. Though they didn’t last, their brief hookup provided hope for us all. Hope that ageism is out, gender “rules” are irrelevant (why should older dudes and younger women have all the fun?) and doing what feels best reigns supreme. Thank you, Hud-Jo.

The gossip gods were clearly listening this year, making good on the match made in celebrity rebound heaven. Gwen and Blake first hooked up on the set of The Voice after both judges found themselves single and scorned this passed year. A publicity stunt for ratings? Who cares! The OC punk princess and the charming country crooner make a super hot couple, and who can resist a good revenge story? (Sorry, 12-year-old self, turns out Gavin Rossdale is not your ultimate dream guy after all.) While Gwen and Blake are still together and want everyone to know about it, I’m not sure this one should or will last much longer. I’d be satisfied if it only lasted long enough for Gwen to get her groove back. And considering how bomb she’s looking lately and the resurgence of her music career, I’d say their time is almost up.

When Drake was first spotted in the stands in support of Serena Williams back in August, gossip erupted around the world. Could it be? Could the King of emo rap and the Queen of the court really be a thing? The answer: YES, if only for a brief, beautiful moment. But their romance wasn’t just fun to watch (and imagine); it also sent an empowering message to women everywhere. First, most of their fling was filled with HIM supporting HER; holding court at a handful of her important matches and showing up at her NYFW runway show. Drake was also the first dude to be labelled a “bad luck charm,” with fans blaming his presence for her loss at the U.S. Open. Their connection also proved that real men aren’t afraid of strong women, inside and out. Serena is a seriously focused, successful and talented athlete with a strong, bangin’ body.

Ms. Miley has had some seriously hot relationships over the years…um, hi, Liam Hemsworth. But none are quite as sexy as the brief romance she had with Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell in 2015. After being publicly dissed by boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger, Cyrus reportedly sparked up a fling with her long-time gal pal. The two were spotted spending a lot of time together over the summer and were even caught making out on set. Though they made a drop-dead gorgeous couple, Miley never called them that, admitting that she’s just been having fun. Couple or not, this courtship motivated Miley to open up about her sexuality. Turns out she identifies as a pansexual, which means she doesn’t identify with any one gender or sexual preference. Brave, beautiful and totally badass, as per usual. Bravo, Miley.
The Weeknd and Bella Hadid
There’s nothing hotter than two rising stars joining forces to make an up-and-coming power couple. Case in point: Bella Hadid and The Weeknd. The Canadian R&B star and the youngest Hadid sister recently made headlines when they went public with their relationship earlier this year. Despite a few appearances together at NYFW, the trendy twosome has remained relatively low-key about their romance—until now, that is. The seven-time Grammy nominee hired his model love to star as an erotic stripper assassin in his sultry new music vid for “In The Night.” A happy (and sexy) ending for the pair, who have individually had their fair share of struggles over the past few years; she’s been open about her family’s battle with Lyme disease and he’s admitted to having substance abuse issues. (Did you know “I can’t feel my face” is not about a woman? Mind. Blown.) Unlike the other hookups on this list, we actually think this cool, understated and irresistible couple could have staying power in 2016.
