Gala glam

Sephora opened its doors to eager Calgarians just over a year ago and the honeymoon isn’t even close to being over.  So, you can imagine the excitement when hundreds of gala-goers at Belgo were welcomed by Sephora beauty consultants to kick off this years Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF).  Armed with tool belts, brushes and make-up palettes with every color under the sun, Sephora’s beauty team was delighted to offer guests some unexpected star treatment.  Guests were quick to fill the make-up chairs and soak up beauty tips and techniques from the professionals.

Nathalie Bechard, Sephora color expert (seen left), says her team was thrilled with the positive response, “Some women took full advantage of the talented artists, requesting smokey eyes, which most women aren’t comfortable trying on their own.”   Bechard added that some fashion savvy women were eager to try out some fall and winter make-up trends, such as berry-stained lips and deep reds. Guests not only walked away with a glammed-up look, but a handful of signature Sephora items.  And the VIP treatment didn’t end there, after the touch-ups, partiers were invited to their very own photo shoot for to grace the (faux) cover of FASHION Magazine.  Covers can be viewed and downloaded at fashionmagazine.com/ciff, starting October 6.
