Ed Sheeran Says He’s Hooked Up With Some Taylor Swift Squad Members

We all know Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are pretty close friends. What we didn’t know was how close the 26-year-old British singer was to Swifty’s squad members…or so he says.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the “Shape of You” crooner revealed he “often” woke up next to Tay’s (unnamed) celebrity friends while touring with the songstress in 2013.

“Taylor’s world is celebrity,” he told the magazine. “I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates. It was very easy.… I would often find myself in situations just kind of waking up and looking over and being like, ‘How the f— did that happen?'”

One pop star who isn’t surprised by Ed’s claims, however, is (Taylor Swift nemesis) Katy Perry.

“Everybody loves him, no one’s scared of him, they want to date him. They can have him,” said the “Chained to the Rhythm” songstress, according to Rolling Stone.

The Grammy Award winner, who is currently dating his highschool sweetheart, Cherry Seaborn, has previously been linked to squad member Ellie Goulding. Many speculated Goulding was the subject of Sheeran’s song “Don’t,” which was about a fling with a fellow pop star that ended when he learned she had sex with a friend staying on the same hotel floor (supposedly One Direction’s Niall Horin, who has also dated squad member Selena Gomez).

Shortly after, Ellie released “On My Mind,” in which she sings, “You wanted my heart, but I just liked your tattoos,” which, of course, many people linked to Ed. Goulding later denied any involvement with Sheeran.

And as for the rumours surrounding a romance between Sheeran and the squad leader, he says they aren’t true.

“I found that aspect quite lazy journalism,” Ed said. “There wasn’t any truth to it whatsoever.”
