Kate Middleton may wear many vibrant colours (bright blue being at the top of that list) but we’re quite fond of her other favourite go-to: dove grey. Today she wore two different dresses in shades of grey while out exploring the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park, home of the awe-inspiring Uluru/Ayer’s Rock. While the Duke of Cambridge spent the day in an all-khaki ensemble (fitting for a very hot day spent in the desert) Kate started the day in a custom Roksanda Ilincic dress. The sleeveless, asymmetrical dress is similar to the one Kate wore upon arrivial in Los Angeles in 2011, but less formal in both fabrication and silhouette—making it ideal for an afternoon spent at the National Indigenous Training Academy, watching your husband learn how to handle a two meter long traditional hunting spear.

Kate was also given a traditional gift—a hand painted seed bracelet—which complemented both the dress and her Catherine Zoraida double leaf earrings. She kept it on until the afternoon’s outfit change, when she switched into a look we’ve seen before: her checker-print grey and white Hobbs dress, last seen when Kate played sports with schoolkids in 2012. In keeping things casual, Kate also changed into more comfortable Imperia slingback wedges and donned another traditional piece of jewellery, a seed necklace. And if you think these stunning photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge exploring Uluru/Ayer’s Rock at sunset are just to die for, consider that the couple is spending the night in the park, glamping under the stars. Can we book a ticket to Australia, stat?
