The potential romance between 24-year-old Gomez and 26-year-old The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) was particularly interesting, given the Canadian singer once dated Bella Hadid, who falls in the same friendship circle as Selena. This led to the 20-year-old model quietly unfollowing Gomez on Instagram, but not The Weeknd, interestingly enough.
Then, on Thursday, fashion photographer Mert Alas posted a very racy pic of “The Heart Wants What It Wants” songstress, which saw her wearing nothing but a towel, hoop earrings and a thong. He also reportedly tagged The Weeknd in the comments, with a black heart emoji, before deleting the image altogether.
