Bella Hadid Opens Up About Breakup With The Weeknd

"I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him."

Following Bella Hadid’s breakup with the Weeknd came a lot of shade being thrown and sexy selfies getting posted.

The 20-year-old seemed shaken up after splitting with the Starboy singer. But now, she’s ready to open up about it.

The couple had dated for over a year before their relationship came to a halt this November. Hadid spoke to Teen Vogue about being thrust into the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where she had to walk past The Weeknd for the first time since their breakup. (She did it flawlessly, BTW.)

But the Victoria’s Secret model admits it wasn’t as easy as it looked.

She told Teen Vogue that her biggest breakup was with the “love of her life,” her horse, Lego. But The Weeknd was her second breakup, and her first public one.

“As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily,” she said in the interview. “It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through.”

The moment with the two ex-lovers seemed so elegant and put-together. The Internet thought she handled the situation remarkably—who runs into their ex looking that good?

Though she was left heartbroken, Hadid doesn’t seem to have any bad thoughts when it comes to The Weeknd.

“I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him,” she told Teen Vogue. “Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”
