No rest for the wicked

With just over a year under my Miu Miu belt covering parties for fashionmagazine.com, this fashionable girl was thrilled to accompany editor-in-chief Ceri Marsh to the Design Exchange Black & White gala (possibly our swankiest outing yet!) honouring Canadian designer mavericks, Pink Tartan’s Kimberley Newport-Mimran and Joe Fresh Style’s Joe Mimran.
Hot on the heels of a crazy deadline/fashion week, we were ready to mingle. The evening began with a cocktail party and silent auction before moving up to the third floor of the Design Exchange Building for dinner. The after party kept rockin’ until 1 a.m. Joining us at our table were Fashion File’s Adrian Mainella, fashion writer extraordinaire David Livingstone, Jake Gold of Canadian Idol fame and his lovely wife Leesa Butler. We also spotted Alexandra and Galen Weston, Jeanne Beker of Fashion Television and Tevrow + Chase designer Paul Sinclaire, the evening’s co-chair. Those who couldn’t be there in person sent video messages to Mimrans: the illustrious Grace Mirabella, former editor in chief of Vogue (BA, before Anna) and newlywed Ben Mulroney, who was literally marrying Jessica Brownstein as we ate. After a night chatting about puppies with the Gold’s, noshing on the most delicious steak, sipping champagne and toting away a pretty extravagant gift bag, this fashionable girl was spent.
