OPI San Francisco collection: Introducing 15 new nail polish colours for fall 2013

Though we’re just on the brink of summer, who doesn’t appreciate the chance to preview an upcoming fall collection—especially when it involves new shades of nail polish? Set to launch this August, the OPI fall collection takes inspiration from the sights and sounds of San Francisco. OPI has long paired their nail polish collections with international locales, from Europe to Asia to Australia, making a manicure at home feel just a little bit like a mini vacation.
The forthcoming OPI San Francisco collection may take its inspiration from a place that’s much closer to home, but the 15 colours still have an international feel, thanks to the rich culture of San Francisco itself: “To me, the women of San Francisco and the city itself really epitomize today’s multifaceted beauty consumer. San Francisco offers a European flair with distinct West Coast attributes,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI executive VP and artistic director via press release.
True to the traditions of fall colours, the OPI San Francisco collection ranges from deep blues to warm, earthy hues. There’s 12 traditional nail polish shades and three Liquid Sand colours in the collection. The Golden Gate Bridge is represented with a shimmering ruby shade titled “First Date at the Golden Gate,” while the city’s iconic bay area is played up with colours like “Wharf! Wharf! Wharf!” (a rich-blue Liquid Sand polish), “A-Piers to Be Tan” (a chocolate-brown polish), and “Keeping Suzi at Bay” (a vibrant shade of blue).
The OPI San Francisco collection also includes reference to the city’s history as a hippie hot spot with a few psychedelic nail polish shades. “Peace, Love and OPI” is sure to be the colour of fall: it’s a shimmering, holographic sage and eggplant polish. And “It’s All San Andreas’s Fault” adds some texture to the shimmer: it’s a glittery Liquid Sand polish that’s sure to delight.
