Since first hearing about Marc Jacobs’ venture into the beauty world, we’ve been eagerly awaiting news on what his collection would include and when we could get our hands on it. Well, the wait is over. Thanks to WWD, an in-depth sneak peek at the Marc Jacobs Beauty line is here. Created in partnership with Sephora, the colour cosmetics collection offers a range of sleek products that emulate the elegant yet unique aesthetics of Jacobs’ fashion designs.

Already excited? It gets better. The Marc Jacobs Beauty collection will have an impressive 122 products at launch, situated across four unique categories: Smart Complexion, Blacquer, Hi-Per Color and Boy Tested, Girl Approved. From foundations and concealers to gel crayons and nail polishes, it would be easy to replace almost every item in your makeup bag with a new Marc Jacobs Beauty product. And in true Marc Jacobs spirit, boys will be able to play along too: a handful of products, such as lip balms and concealers, are considered unisex.

Needless to say, Jacobs is pleased with the results of his first colour cosmetics collection and he’s looking forward to seeing how the public will respond. “Now I want to see what the customer thinks,” he told WWD. “That’s the ultimate.”

Don’t worry, MJ! We’re already in love with your remarkable work with Louis Vuitton, your two eponymous collections and your desirable floral-inspired fragrances. All signs point to amazing for Marc Jacobs Beauty.

So pencil in the date now: Come August 9, 2013, the collection will debut both in-store and online at Sephora. We can’t wait.
