Kim Kardashian is Over the Highlighting Trend

As we’re sure you’ve noticed, since Kim Kardashian West’s terrifying robbery in Paris and resulting time away from the spotlight, she’s emerged looking…different. She’s been on a “less is more” kick—less HD photos on Instagram, less jewellery, and okay maybe not less hair extensions. And now, our girl is denouncing one more thing: highlighter!
It all really started when she showed up to the Balenciaga show in Paris sans-makeup last season, but we thought it was a phase. But now, in her latest makeup tutorial on her app, with—who else—Mario Dedivanovic, she explains the transformation. “Sometimes I look at our show and I’ll see all of the highlighter we would use, like so much highlighter, like caked on our face, it looks crazy. So I just want like a natural way to look like you glow and still have the highlighter but just not caked on.”
While highlighters are still going strong in the market (um, Kylie just launched some…), we are curious to see what effect Kim’s laid-back approach will have on the ‘gram community.
