This Palette Took Kat Von D Seven Years (!!!) to Create
If you’re a Kat Von D fan, you’ve heard of the Alchemist palette (and if you’re not, lol why not?). She began teasing the palette way back in 2015, saying it was an “eyeshadow formula I’ve been working on for the past 5 years.” That was in August. Then this past spring, she posted a sketch of the packaging, followed by the very first prototype in June. “Do you guys remember the artwork of the letter A that I drew the other day? Well, today after SEVEN YEARS of working on a super special formula, I got to see [and hold] the first component prototype in my hands!”, she wrote. “Don’t even try and guess what this special “palette” is, cuz I promise you won’t! *and yeah, I know! It’s way to soon to talk about the #alchemist palette, since it’s not launching till next year, but I just couldn’t help giving y’all a sneaky-peek!”
Well y’all, the Alchemist palette is finally here, almost two years later. Of course, it’s 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and is biodegradable and recyclable. Kat explains, “This palette is made up of the most versatile formula I have ever created. It’s is highly pigmented but iridescent. Originally formulated as an eyeshadow but can be used as a highlighter, or a top coat transformer on both lips + eyes.”
The palette launches on sephora.com and katvondbeauty.com on December 24th, and will be in stores on December 26th (as if Boxing Day wasn’t insane enough). However, if you’re a Sephora VIB member, you’ll have access to the Alchemist palette as soon as December 18th.
