Depending on your level of devotion to the beauty world, your reaction to finding out certain products have been discontinued can range anywhere from IDGAF to inconsolable desperation. In the case of John Frieda‘s Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea Spray, the reactions were pretty, uh, extreme. Beauty forums were flooded with the cries of women who were accustomed to having perfect beachy waves throughout the ’90s and early 2000s, only to have it all snatched away in 2007. Websites and magazine editors shared their pleas and bloggers tried to understand what went wrong. People even started selling old ones on eBay for $120!

Well, no more, my friends. If you’re a beachy waves aficionado like myself (read: lazy person who likes good hair), then you should be sitting down for this—just kidding, I know you already are. #lazy4lyfe

The cult classic is coming back in 2015 after much begging and pleading and voting on social media. Some things have changed, of course. For instance, the name: it’s now called John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray. The look: it’s brighter and more current-looking. Whatever, right? Just gimme the bottle. The last change—and don’t freak out—is the formula. But only because technology has improved so much since ’07, you guys! In fact, when the John Frieda team was creating the new formula, they constantly tested it against the old one and it’s apparently better than before.

And finally, you no longer have to shake it before use and it still smells like the old mix (equal parts coconut and happiness).
