This Game-Changing Hair Mask Only Needs to Be Left on For a Minute
Real talk: most of us put our hair through a lot. Whether it’s dyeing it on the reg, daily heat styling or overloading it with product, our poor strands are left fried and unhappy.
And sure, hair masks are a great option for repairing that damage, but if we’re being really honest, they can be annoying to use. They go on goopy, drip onto our shower floor during the application process and need to be left on anywhere from three to 20 minutes (who has time for that?!). But there’s one new hair mask that’s changing the game, thanks to its easy-to-use formula: the IGK Prenup Instant Spray Hair Mask.
Created by IGK salon, the product, as the name suggests, comes in a 360 aerosol spray can making even application a breeze. The texture is a lightweight, low viscosity liquid, rather than the heavy emollient cream of a typical hair mask. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t as effective as its predecessors — the blend of senna leaf extract, cupuacu butter, and nourishing amla oil helps repair hair from the inside out, while apple cider vinegar adds shine in — get this — under a minute.
After washing your hair with shampoo, simply squeeze out the excess water and proceed to spray the mask from roots to ends. Comb through to ensure even application, then rinse immediately with cold water and voila! You’re done. Should you wish to have a deeper conditioning treatment, you can leave it on for three minutes before rinsing, but TBH, we’re all for the one-minute method.
This spray, wash and go concept is inspired by Korean splash masks, which simply require splashing a combination of water and a face mask onto your visage, then rinsing immediately. Obviously, it’s great for on-the-go women who may not necessarily have the time to sit around in a mask for 20 minutes.
IGK Prenup is available exclusively at Sephora for $38. Consider us sold.
