Donald Trump is Now Skin-Shaming Women
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, Donald Trump has really amped up his efforts to become the most infuriating person in the world. Between his awful conversation with Billy Bush and his creepy lurking during the debate, it didn’t seem we could SMH any harder. But we were proven wrong.
In leaked transcripts from The Apprentice, Trump was heard trashing country music singer Emily West for having bad skin. Now, this is not even remotely close to the worst thing to ever come out of his mouth, of course, but it’s still so gross.
A 2010 episode of The Apprentice titled ‘Beauty and Brains’ had contestants re-brand a country music star, and West and Luke Bryan were two of the chosen singers. They were media trained, given new promo packaging, etc. But when it came time for the boardroom evaluations, Trump was quoted as saying, “I assume you’re gonna leave this off, don’t put this shit on the show, you know. But her skin, her skin sucks, okay?” says Trump, according to the transcript. “I mean her skin, she needs some serious fuckin’ dermatology.”
At one point in the conversation, Trump said this of Luke Bryan: “Personally, I am, as you probably heard, not a gay man, but I think he’s better looking that [sic] Emily okay?”
When Trump asked guest judge Trace Adkins what he thought of the contestants’ new brochures, Adkins said he preferred Emily’s. Trump responded with, “You’re obviously not a skin man, which is okay. I wish I wasn’t.”
