Celebrity fragrances: The good, the bad and the totally inexplicable

Gwen Stefani’s original five “Harajuku Lovers” scents were a huge hit when they were released in 2008. While all the scents are pleasant, we love this perfume for its adorable doll packaging.

“Glow,” Jennifer Lopez’s first fragrance, was a big success in 2002. Using hints of flowers, fruit, amber and vanilla, this scent is still very alluring.

Britney Spears struck gold with her 2004 fragrance “Curious.” This scent is lively, fun and oh-so-reminiscent of those high school days.

We want to hate this perfume, but we can’t. Like everything else Taylor Swift does, “Wonderstruck” will leave you feeling enchanted.

While we love Queen Bey, her perfume “Heat” isn’t our fave. The peach-scented top notes are pretty, but this won’t be our signature scent anytime soon.

We love a bottle in the shape of a bust (see Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature scents), but Nicki Minaj’s perfume is just downright creepy. She may slay verses on her album “Pink Friday,” but her perfume of the same name is a tad lacklustre.

One pump of Ariana Grande’s “Ari” perfume and you’re engulfed in a sickeningly sweet cotton candy cloud.

Like Grande’s perfume, “Mad Potion” by Katy Perry is yet another generic, sweet scent.

“Paris” by Paris Hilton was everyone’s signature scent circa 2005. Enough said.

Justin Bieber’s “Gilfriend” is dedicated to his female fans and reeks of teeny boppers.

This second fragrance by One Direction smells like hairspray (and not the good kind).

Remember when Adam Levine tweeted that he “would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances?” Looks like he should’ve taken his own advice.

While we’ve never actually tried this perfume, knowing Donald Trump we can only assume that “Empire” smells like dirty dollar bills.
