The flower crown has been a festival staple for quite some time now. How can you not feel like a girlie, wild child while donning a gorgeous band of flowers around your head? They will certainly always have a special place in my heart, but if you want to stand out from the crowds at this year’s summer festivals, there are a lot of different ways to mix up the usual look!

An awesome and super easy way to have that festival vibe is to accessorize with hair jewelry. Lately, I have been swooning over full head pieces like the one I am wearing here. Being one piece, it is easy to put on, and it definitely feels snug enough to last through all that dancing! I like the look of it with my hair in messy, carefree curls. Since the hair jewelry falls above my eyes, I went for a more dramatic eye makeup to allow for them to play each other up.

Festivals are fun! It’s the perfect time to chill out with your friends and check out your favourite performers. There are other ways to stand out than wearing a crown, feathers or jewels on your head. Try wearing bright makeup! I don’t care what skin tone you are. You can rock whatever colour you want! For me, bright colours are outside of my daily comfort zone so I always add a brown to the crease. The star of the show is the Anastasia Beverly Hills singles. I’m wearing “Star Cobalt” in a metallic blue and “Sienna” the perfect ultra-matte earthy brown in the crease. Blending is key! I also added M.A.C 20 accent lashes to finish the look.

As for hair, I want something care-free that I don’t need to fix every minute. So my go to is senegalese twists! These come pre-twisted which makes installation a breeze.

There are no rules when it comes to hair and makeup during festival season and for these outdoor shenanigans one is simply expected to be utterly unique.

For my makeup I like to keep my complexion feeling fresh and light. A buildable medium to full coverage tinted moisturizer is my go to for these types of events while brushing on a warm matte bronzer.

I like attention being drawn to my brows so I stick with a waterproof brow product for longevity. No festival look is complete without a little sparkle so I line clear lash glue under my brows and with a small flat brush I stick loose glitter under my brows for a Giambattista Valli runway inspired look.

As for the lips, I keep it low maintenance with a long lasting liquid matte lipstick to avoiding touching up throughout my festival shenanigans.

When it comes to my hair I like to wear it down while it being out of my face. For these events I like to rock messy effortless curls in a half topknot. You can achieve this by taking the top half of your hair then begin twirling the strand around. Once I’m content with my half topknot I secure it with a thin hair tie and hide any fly away pieces with a bobby pin.
